We Feed Raw:- We Feed Raw is a company deeply rooted in our family’s lifelong passion for animals and our desire to provide them with the healthiest diet possible. The idea to create this business came from a need to feed our own pets with high-quality food that could truly support their health, not just keep them alive. Over time, our love for our pets and the results we saw from feeding them raw, biologically appropriate meals inspired us to extend this benefit to other pet owners. That’s how We Feed Raw was born.

We Feed Raw

Our goal is simple: to make sure you know exactly what goes into your dog’s food. With We Feed Raw, we offer fresh, raw, and nutritionally complete meals that align with what your pet’s ancestors would have eaten in the wild. This is not just about feeding dogs—it’s about nourishing them in a way that promotes optimal health. We are dedicated to ensuring that pet owners have access to healthy, biologically appropriate ingredients for their furry family members, because we believe dogs deserve the best chance at a long, happy, and healthy life.

How We Got Started?

We Feed Raw’s origin story is both personal and meaningful. My sister, Alissa, was the true visionary behind the company. She had an unshakable belief that dogs deserved better food—real, unprocessed, and as close to nature as possible. She wanted to give her own dogs the best nutrition available, but she found it difficult to access raw food that met her high standards. So, she decided to create it herself. Unfortunately, in 2014, Alissa passed away, and I took it upon myself to continue her legacy. I made it my mission to fulfill her dream of providing healthy, raw meals to as many dogs as possible.

Today, We Feed Raw is thriving. We deliver safe, convenient raw meals to tens of thousands of dogs across the United States. Our growth has been incredible, but we’ve never lost sight of our core mission: to positively impact dogs’ lives through proper nutrition. We’re committed to making sure every dog we feed can thrive on the raw, unprocessed diet their bodies were meant to eat.

We’re also fortunate to have a team that is as passionate as we are. Each person who joins We Feed Raw believes in our vision and contributes to our mission in unique ways. We work closely with a Ph.D. animal nutritionist to ensure that every meal we create is nutritionally balanced and tailored to meet dogs’ specific dietary needs. Our dream is for more pet owners to recognize the benefits of raw feeding, and to help make raw meals a more common option for pets everywhere.

My Personal Connection to Pets

I’ve always had a deep connection to animals, which I attribute to my upbringing. Both of my parents were animal lovers, and our house was always filled with pets, especially rescues. I grew up learning that kindness to animals is a reflection of a person’s character, and it’s a value I’ve carried with me throughout my life. Now, I’ve passed that same philosophy on to my son.

Currently, we have a Wirehaired Pointing Griffon named Watts, who we adopted last year when he was two years old. Watts was a bit of a handful at first and needed a lot of training, but he quickly became a beloved member of our family. We often joke that Watts won the doggie lottery by being adopted into a family that runs a pet food business. Unsurprisingly, he absolutely loves his raw meals. My husband, who is the Chief Operating Officer of We Feed Raw, and I are both proud to feed him the healthiest diet possible, and it shows in his shiny coat and high energy levels.

What Is a Raw Food Diet for Dogs?

So, what exactly is a raw food diet? In its simplest form, a raw diet for dogs consists of the kinds of food they would naturally find in the wild. Instead of processed kibble or commercial dog foods, a raw diet typically includes ingredients like:

• Raw meat

• Bones

• Organs

• Eggs

• Fruits

• Vegetables

The raw food movement for dogs was first popularized by Australian veterinarian Ian Billinghurst in his book Give Your Dog a Bone. He introduced the concept of BARF (Biologically Appropriate Raw Food or Bones And Raw Food), which encourages feeding dogs the kind of natural, unprocessed diet their ancestors would have consumed.

Supporters of raw diets, like us at We Feed Raw, believe that this approach offers several health benefits, including stronger teeth, shinier coats, healthier skin, and higher energy levels. But most importantly, it mimics what nature intended for dogs, which is why we’re so passionate about making raw feeding accessible to pet owners.

Addressing Concerns About Raw Feeding

We understand that some people may be hesitant about feeding their dogs raw food due to concerns about safety and nutrition. After all, raw meat can carry harmful bacteria like Salmonella and E. coli, and preparing it in your home might risk spreading those pathogens to your family members. That’s why we work hard to make sure our meals are not only nutritionally balanced but also safe for both your pets and your home.

At We Feed Raw, we take safety very seriously. We follow strict quality control measures to ensure that every meal we deliver is free from harmful bacteria and contamination. Additionally, our meals are formulated with the guidance of a Ph.D. animal nutritionist to meet your dog’s specific dietary needs at different stages of life. So, you can feel confident that you’re feeding your pet a safe, balanced, and highly nutritious meal.

A Healthier Future for Dogs

At We Feed Raw, we believe that a raw food diet should be the standard for pets, not the exception. We envision a future where processed kibble is replaced by biologically appropriate meals that promote better health and longevity for our pets. Our work is driven by love, passion, and a dedication to improving the lives of dogs through proper nutrition.

We’re proud of the impact we’ve had so far, and we’re excited about what’s to come. Whether you’re a long-time raw feeder or someone curious about transitioning your dog to raw food, we’re here to support you every step of the way.
